Wanted: David Montgomery

It's time for Monty to go. Its Time. We've had two GM's with the same results: Glaring Bullpen deficencies and an inability to manufacture runs. We've had what, five managers in the time span as well?

The buck has to stop somewhere. And that somewhere has to be the front office. We've let our farm system rot into the ground. Our free agent signings have been questionable at best. Thome was the best signing in the entire time frame, and he had one good season in Phill. This year, we pick up a pitcher whose never had a winning season(or a complete one for that matter), a bunch of filler outfielders , and shoddy bullpen pieces.

It's time to Show Monty the door. Let fucking Giles make the decisions. That way, when the team still sucks, people might actually do what they need to do, which is boycott this team.

Maybe then the whole mantra of spending money to make money will sink in, and we can get the ball rolling. Were in arguably the toughest division in baseball, and make personell decision that rival a last place AL team.

What the Fuck? Thats all i can say. What in the holy god of fuck, are they thinking?

I'm actually happy i live out of market. And that is sad.

Wanted- just a team that wins early in the season

Montgomery/Wade/Giles aren't faulted for the slow starts, that's management and players not being ready to play in April

i agree with maiter on this one. the slow start is definately the manager's fault. it's his job to make sure the team is ready for when the regular season starts.
as for gillick and montgomery, firing david would really only be a token firing, the owners are the ones that want/don't want to spend money. dave montgomery is just a figurehead for the front office.
gillick i think is doing a fine job, he's putting talent on the field. i don't know if you were looking at the same free agent pool i was in the off season, but there was not much there in the way of relief pitching that wasn't waaay overpriced. and you can't give him anything but credit for the starting rotation improvement from last year. yes 2 guys are injured but that is not forseeable.
myers and hamels put up two good outings, the phillies should be 3-3 at the worst, but they couldn't put up runs. that's the fault of howard and utley who weren't particularly effective in most of the games so far.
what should happen instead of firing everyone/anyone, is someone who wants to win needs to buy the team from the owners who are commited not to win, but to make a lot of money. this purpetuates the team being just good enough to put bodies in the seats.

Yes and its the GM's job to go out and address the issues we can't in house 1) a Bullpen, and b) a PH who isn't completley worhtless...

If we had two decent relievers beside geary and say, trot nixon, i gurantee you we would at least be 500. We've had 4 quality starts torn to shit so far because we don't have a more than one reliever who can give up less than a run over an inning
